–Central Pacific Construction, general contractor in Paso Robles, has brought new life to the mid-century Bunker home in Morro Bay. Company owner, Frank Cueva, said, “The house is a mid 50’s home that has never been remodeled. It was in major need of repairs. The entire interior was demolished. The only things left standing were the exterior walls, to which we added new stucco as one of our finishing touches.”

The project required everything to be replaced; walls, floors, appliances, fixtures and plumbing and electrical, including the main electrical panel. “The entire home was remodeled and updated,” said Cueva. “The owners are located in Sacramento and even-though they were long distance, we were able to communicate and succeed in making their vacation dream home a reality.”

A lot of work went in to preserving the architecture of the beautiful old beach home. Morro Bay, as well as other coastal neighborhoods, have a lot of homes from the 1950s and earlier. The ocean air, sea salt, temperatures that fluctuate between foggy mornings and warm days can contribute to rot. Outdated plumbing and electrical systems bring another set of problems.
